Fine example of 1126 ARCHER radiator cap - FOR SALE
Catalogue no. 1126 and the only hood ornament created by René Lalique in 1926. The Archer was the first of several rondel designs, this model depicting a muscular bowman drawing his bow and pointing his arrow directly forward. In an original Breves radiator mount with lovely patina.
The mount is period original and engraved: "Breves Galleries. Knightsbridge. S. W. 3. PAT No 309301" - The mount is not seized in any way and the Archer mascot can be removed and shows no damage to the glass base. Please contact us for details of an example offered without mount.
The Archer has no chips or other damage and a nice grey hue to the glass and good detail in the mold.
The signature is molded ‘R. Lalique’ in the lower right of the rondel.
