Fine example of the model no. 1183 CHRYSIS car mascot
The Lalique Chrysis mascot was the last created in 1931, presented as a hood ornament and is perhaps the most sensuous of Lalique's radiator cap designs.
Offered here is a fine example in clear glass with no chips, grinding or restoration, exhibiting a lovely grey hue and silky feel to the glass. Some mold lines and polishing thereof are apparent as part of the production technique of the time along with some minor air bubbles.
Stencilled ‘R. LALIQUE’ and smaller 'FRANCE' to underside of base.
