Lalique Tete d'Aigle Car Mascot
Fine example of the model no. 1138 Tete d'Aigle or eagle head mascot

Designed in 1928 and full of symbolism so often seen with Rene Lalique radiator caps.

Offered here is a fine example in clear glass with no chips, grinding or restoration, other than a hint of polishing at the front bottom edge of the base (see image) and scratching to the bottom of the base through many years of display. Some patination suggesting having been fitted to a mascot mount or base.

Exhibiting a lovely grey hue to the glass and superb mold quality. Some mold lines and polishing thereof are apparent as part of the production technique of the time along with some minor air bubbles. Also some straw marks certainly denoting this as an earlier production piece.

Molded 'R. Lalique' between the lower feathers and 'France' on the opposite side. A very fine example when held up against other post-war pieces.

Height 10.7cm
