Lalique Dragonfly Car Mascot
Fine example of the model no. 1144 Libellule Petite or small dragonfly mascot
 
Designed in 1928 a stunning representation of a dragonfly with wings folded as a René Lalique radiator cap.
 
Offered here is a wonderful example in clear glass exhibiting good mold quality and a greyish hue to the glass.
 
No chips, grinding or restoration. Some mold lines and air bubbles are apparent as part of the production technique of the time.
 
Molded ‘LALIQUE’ with double-tailed Q within the wing design and molded 'FRANCE’ above the base. Of added interest is a very fine and heavy solid silver mounting collar hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1928 with lion passant certifiying the silver quality manufactured by William Neale & Son Ltd.
