Lalique Tete d'Epervier Car Mascot Opal
Fine example of the model no. 1139 Tete d'Epervier or hawk's head mascot in oplaescent glass

Designed in 1928 and full of symbolism so often seen with René Lalique radiator caps. Offered here is an example in striking blue/yellow opalescent glass.

The opalescence gives a strength to this piece constrasting the simple lines of the clear glass version and depth of the topaz model. The Tete d’Epervier is unusual in being offered by Lalique in 3 distinct versions.

No chips, grinding or restoration. Some mold lines and air bubbles are apparent as part of the production technique of the time.

Molded ‘Lalique France’ above the base, as is correct for this piece. The 'France' is slightly faint against the stronger double-tailed Q Laligue signature on this piece.

Height 6.1cm
