Lalique Naiade Car Mascot
Fine example of the model no. 832 Naiade mascot in clear glass

Designed in 1920 as a statuette and often considered as a car mascot, having an identical round base diameter to many other models, offered here is a fine early example in clear glass.

No chips, grinding or restoration. Some mold lines apparent as part of the production technique of the time. Very fine detail.

Molded ‘R.Lalique’ mark atop the tail fin.

Lovely grey hue to glass with beautiful patination showcasing the exquisite detail.

The Naiade is perhaps more often seen in opalescent glass sometimes masking the detail that can be seen in the clear glass version. A mascot collection should perhaps carry examples of both glass mixtures, which showcase the piece differently.

Height 13cm

See here for more information about the Naiade nymph or mermaid hood ornament.
