Lalique Sirene Opal Car Mascot

Fine example of the model no. 831 Sirene mascot in opalescent glass

Designed in 1920 as a statuette and later adapted as a car mascot, appearing in period Breves catalogues, offered here is a fine early example in opalescent glass.

No chips, grinding or restoration. Some mold lines and air bubbles apparent as part of the production technique of the time. Very minor scratch/mark to bottom of base.

Molded ‘R. Lalique’ mark between tail fins.

Exquisite blue/yellow colour to glass with some blue staining/patina, allowing the detail to be seen in the model.

A mascot collection should perhaps carry examples of both clear and opalescent finishes for the Sirene which do showcase the piece differently.

Height 10cm
