Lalique Sirene Car Mascot
Fine example of the model no. 831 Sirene mascot in clear glass

Designed in 1920 as a statuette and later adapted as a car mascot, appearing in period Breves catalogues, offered here is a fine early example in clear glass.

No chips, grinding or restoration. Some mold lines and air bubbles apparent as part of the production technique of the time. Very small scratch/mark to edge of base.

Molded ‘R.Lalique’ mark between tail fins and engraved ‘R.Lalique France’ to bottom of base.

Lovely grey hue to glass. The Sirene is perhaps more often seen in opalescent glass sometimes masking the detail that can be seen in the clear glass version. A mascot collection should perhaps carry examples of both glass mixtures, which do showcase the piece differently.

Height 10cm
